Liz Boland

Business Manager
email: lboland@nbccoalition.org

Liz Boland came to the Coalition from the Mount Williams Greenhouses and Flower Shop, where she had kept the books for 22 years.  Liz claimed the Coalition was to be her first experience with a non-profit organization, but she is one of a five-member committee that organizes Berkshire Idol, a yearly singing competition that raises funds for local charities, and she also volunteers with the parent-teacher group at Greylock Elementary School.  A graduate of North Adams State College (now MCLA) with a B. S. in Computer Science, this Northern Berkshire native is drawn to the non-profit world.  At the center of Liz’s life are her two boys, Sully, age 11, and Jon, who is 8.  In the precious bit of free time that comes her way, Liz follows her two passions: football (she cheers for the Patriots!) and good ole rock ‘n’ roll.

Help us Build a Skatepark

This September, the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition’s Youth Leadership Program, in partnership with MASS MoCA and the City of North Adams, will be eligible for a $250,000 grant to build a skatepark and public art space in downtown North Adams.  This grant, through PepsiCo’s Refresh Everything contest, will be awarded to the proposal that receives the greatest number of digital votes throughout the month of September. Anyone over the age of 13 may vote, and people may vote twice per day – once by text message and once online. Because grants are awarded by popular vote, our success relies completely on community outreach and support.

If you wish to volunteer, please contact Emily Baker-White or Kate Merrigan at 413.663.7588 or by email at ebakerwhite@nbccoalition.org and kmerrigan@nbccoalition.org. We are also on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=128963863792041&ref=ts.

Above all, please vote and spread the word throughout September!

Family Caregiver Resource Guide

Caring for an ill loved one can be both one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences in life. You are striving to do your best, and you can’t be everything for everyone.

This guide has resources to help you be the best caregiver you can be.

There are only four kinds of people in the world  those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers and those who will need caregivers.
