Northern Berkshire Neighbors Coordinator

Ashley, a Berkshire mountain native, comes to the Coalition with a wide range of social service experience ranging from community outreach programming to coordinating service learning programs at the college level and providing therapy to children and adults who have experienced significant trauma. Ashley is a proud graduate of Mass College of Liberal Arts and has recently graduated from Smith College School for Social Work with her MSW. At nbCC Ashley coordinates the Northern Berkshire Neighbors Program. Ashley believes in the core mission of NBN because of its grassroots foundation in organizing individuals to unite and empower each other to become a stronger community. When Ashley is not working, she likes to kayak, hike with her dog, spend time with her family in NY and listen to good music.

Tim has lived in the Berkshires his entire life, growing up in North Adams. After graduating from McCann Technical High School, he traveled the earth seeking adventure and later returned to settle and raise his family here. Tim has prior experience working as a child development counselor at the Eagleton School, Inc. in Great Barrington, MA. Currently, Tim is a full time student at MCLA, expecting to graduate in 2010 with a concentration in Sociology, and minors in Social Work and Philosophy. After graduation, Tim plans to attend graduate school to complete his master’s degree in Social Work. In his spare time, Tim enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, fishing, golfing, and playing softball. Tim says, “anything worth doing is worth doing right.”

Northern Berkshire Tonite

The talk show of the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition, hosted by Al Bashevkin and Scott Nichols, each month takes a look at key issues of concern to the residents of Northern Berkshire county. This month Al and Scott will offer a preview to the upcoming monthly forum, entitled “Myths about Our Teens: Stereotypes from Skateboarders to Sexuality to School Personalities.” They will be joined by Kate Merrigan, along with members of the Youth Leadership Program. The show airs on local access television.
