The Berkshire Food Project has seen spike in the number of people
joining us at our free noon time meal just during the month of Sept.
My concern now that it is getting colder is for the homeless population
(mostly single people with addictions) who have been living under the bridge
on river st. and down by the rail road tracks. Where are they going to go
this winter? It's not something we can put off discussing until the next
meeting. We need to figure this out now. Or we will have folks freezing
to death this winter.
My other concern is the fact that there are not any food pantries in Wmst
or Adams. If anyone would like to work with me on getting pantries
up and running please call me at the BFP 664-7378

There are some defacto food pantries in Williamstown. There is still some sort of operation at St. Patrick's. Community Bible Church operates a pantry, and St. John's operates an informal one.All of the churches have one-time vouchers that allow folks to go to Wild Oats. I agree it is not a very complete coverage, but it is not nonexistent.
