The Northern Berkshire Community Coalition is looking for a special person to work as the Communications Coordinator. Our half-time Communications Coordinator will help bring the coalition and community closer together by creating informative and compelling print and web-based newsletters, fliers and other materials.

Working in the office of the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition is an opportunity to be part of team working for community change. We work hard, value collaboration, and help the community create solutions for difficult issues.

Northern Berkshire Tonite

May 10 , 7:30 p.m.

May 14, 8:00 p.m.

The talk show of the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition, hosted by Al Bashevkin and Scott Nichols, each month takes a look at key issues of concern to the residents of Northern Berkshire county.  This month Al and Scott will offer a preview to the upcoming monthly forum, entitled “Teen Pregnancy.”  The show airs on local access television.

CMCA Strategy Team Meetings

Adams Mobilizing for Change on Alcohol (AMCA) and Mt. Greylock Mobilizing for Change on Alcohol (MGMCA) are grassroots initiatives to reduce teenagers’ access to alcohol. Strategy teams made up of local citizens meet monthly to guide project priorities and actions. To learn more about getting involved in the Adams team, contact Corinne Case at ccase@nbccoalition.org.  For information about the Mt. Northern Berkshire Youth Collaborative

May 5, 11:00 a.m.

The monthly meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month (September through June) at 11:00 a.m. at the Coalition, 61 Main St., Suite 218, North Adams.  We hope you’ll join us for the May meeting, where the group will hear from Donna Rempell and Amanda Blanchard of the Brien Center about anxiety issues that affect adolescents.  To get on the group’s e-mail list, contact Kate Merrigan at kmerrigan@nbccoalition.org.

Coalition Monthly Forum

May 14, 10:00 a.m.

Join us for the May monthly forum of the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition.  The discussion is entitled “Teen Pregnancy.” The meeting is held at the First Baptist Church in North Adams, at the corner of Eagle and Main streets.  Use the Eagle Street entrance.
